SYEP 2011 Career Exploration Fair

DC will  be hosting our Career Fair over the course of three days next week (these dates coincide with the DC Public Schools Spring Break and the holiday weekend for many of our college aged youth). Youth will be invited to attend based on their age. Youth ages 14-15 will attend on Wednesday, April 20; youth ages 16-17 will attend on Thursday, April 21; and youth ages 18-21 will attend on Friday, April 22. You should only RSVP to attend the Career Fair on the dates that are appropriate for your organization based on the age of the participants you plan to hire.

The fair will be held at Eastern Senior High School at 1700 East Capitol Street NE on Wednesday and Thursday and will be held at the National Building Museum at 401 F Street NW on Friday.

Paul Robeson

Paul Leroy Robeson (April 9, 1898 – January 23, 1976) was an African American concert singer (bass-baritone), recording artist, athlete and actor who became noted for his political radicalism and activism in the civil rights movement. The son of an escaped slave, Robeson was the first major concert star to popularize the performance of Negro spirituals and was the first black actor of the 20th century to portray Shakespeare's Othello alongside an all white cast.
